Development of a long
range master site plan and building program of expansion of
diagnostic and testing laboratory spaces supporting the
pharmaceutical industry. There are three phases of the
program - 3 story components of 50,000 square feet each. All
three phases are interconnected by a pedestrian "spine" that
connects to the existing laboratory via an over highway
pedestrian bridge.
The first of three phases of construction was completed in
1999. Phase 2, which was completed in 2008, consists of a 50,000 square foot addition that accommodates new laboratories, conference rooms, office, mechanical
and support spaces and a first floor Bio-Repository, as well as the new corporate "front
door" entrance.

Reading Bakery Systems is a world renowned developer and manufacturer of specialty baking equipment. The new Reading Bakery Systems Innovation Centre provides the perfect environment for the "hands-on" development and testing of complete baking lines, exact mixing and process control systems.
The "manufacturing" test area provides food grade, high bay space for up to two full scale operationally complete baking test lines with a centrally located Lab/Observation/Conference area for clients. Clients can come to the Innovation Centre and see their product perfectly mixed, monitored and baked on a custom baking line.
The office addition provides for an energized welcome and comfortable client waiting. The conference room provides the technology for PC based video presentation and meeting while offering a direct view to the test kitchen. The conference room adjoins a dedicated pantry space for the convenience of the all day visitor or lunch meeting.
The reading thermal space is dedicated to the development of temperature and humidity control devices which are integrated into the process controls for the baking equipment.
The balance of the high bay space is dedicated to materials cutting/fabrication, staging and shipping and break area for the talented Reading Bakery Systems staff. |
